To Kill A Mockingbird

I watched this movie the other day. It's one of my favorites. It's message is as important today as it was back then. I also love collecting quotes. Here are my favorites from this book and movie. Hope you enjoy!~
~~They're certainly entitled to think that, and they're entitled to full respect for their opinions... but before I can live with other folks I've got to live with myself. The one thing that doesn't abide by majority rule is a person's conscience.
~Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird, Chapter 11, spoken by the character Atticus
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~I wanted you to see what real courage is, instead of getting the idea that courage is a man with a gun in his hand. It's when you know you're licked before you begin but you begin anyway and you see it through no matter what. You rarely win, but sometimes you do.
~Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird, Chapter 11, spoken by the character Atticus
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~It was times like these when I thought my father, who hated guns and had never been to any wars, was the bravest man who ever lived.
~Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird, Chapter 11
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
~I think there's just one kind of folks. Folks.
~Harper Lee, To Kill a Mockingbird, Chapter 23, spoken by the character Scout
Thief!!!!!
This oversized squirrel is one of many that inhabit my backyard. What a life :) An abundant supply of black oil sunflower seed, peanubutter suet and whatever else I throw out.....stale bread, muffins and if they are lucky, some authentic NY Italian bread, keeps them coming back for more. Yummy! This chubbo has been dining on suet for the last hour or so. He grabs a handful and then hangs out on top of the birdhouse. So selfish as he very rarely leaves any for my birds. I adore these little creatures though :)
My Babies :)
Are these not the cutest lil' munchkins you've ever seen? The big one is Miss. Serina, she is 5 years old. I found her when she was around 10 days old, cold and abandoned... and raised her. The little guy is Mr. Thumper. I took in his mom, who was a sick and pregnant stray. She was taken to the vet a few times where she was diagnosed with the Herpes virus. I kept her in and gave her lots of TLC. The beginning of April, Lily gave birth to 4 beautiful kitties. I kept one, which is Mr Thumper and found homes for the other three. Miss Lily was spayed in June and is enjoying life with us. The pic on the right is of Miss Serina and Mr Thumper sneaking a snooze on my dog's bed.The pic on the left is Thumper and his littermates.
